CHICAGO -- Cold-brew coffee is arguably the most exciting new subcategory to come to packaged beverages in the past decade.
Here are three brewers who have each put their unique twist on the burgeoning category …
La Colombe, a leading brand in the ready-to-drink cold-brew category, has expanded its product line. La Colombe Draft Latte is a ready-to-drink coffee beverage that "delivers the full taste and texture of a true cold latte," according to the company.
La Colombe will introduce five new ready-to-drink products in the category this year, including two plant-based, a tea and seasonal offerings. New products include:
Bay Valley Foods' Steep 18 Cold Brew Organic Coffee is made from 100% organic coffee beans roasted and steeped for no less than 18 hours. This process produces smooth, rich coffee with less acidity and bitterness, according to the company.
The drinks are made with no artificial flavors, preservatives or colors, and available in original, bold, mocha and vanilla flavors.
Cham Cold Brew isn't coffee at all. Instead, it’s the cold-brew process put to work on chamomile tea "to gently extract flavors, producing a smoother tea that is truer to its original flavor profile while preserving as many natural benefits as possible," the company said.
Cham’s lineup also includes Chamomile Raw Honey Lemon, Revitalize Hibiscus Fruit Tea and Defense Mountain Tea.
