Rogue Ales & Spirits has combined two trending tastes into one new beer with the release of Cold Brew IPA in cans. The IPA is brewed with Rogue Farms, Newport, Ore., hops and blended with Stumptown Coffee Roasters’ Cold Brew Coffee to create “an audacious harmony of hoppy and coffee flavors,” the company said. IPA (India pale ale) beers and cold-brew coffee are among the hottest trends in beverages today. Rogue’s Cold Brew IPA is available nationwide in 12-ounce cans, 22-ounce bottles and on draft.
Ulee’s Light Cider Co. launched in August, billing itself as “America’s first and only craft light-cider brand.” The Auburn, Wash.-based company offers two products: Ulee’s Light Cider Dry and Ulee’s Light Cider Citra. Each 12-oounce can of Ulee’s Light Cider contains only 99 calories, compared to up to 250 calories for other cider brands, according to the company. Ulee’s Light Cider Dry has 4% alcohol by volume (ABV) and each 12-ounce can has 5 grams of carbohydrates. Ulee’s Light Cider Citra is made with citrus hops and has a 4.2% ABV. Each 12-ounce serving has 4 grams of carbs.
The latest addition to Small Town Brewery’s Not Your Father’s line of hard sodas takes a swing at PepsiCo’s Mountain Dew. Not Your Father’s Mountain Ale is a bright green “citrus brew” with 5% alcohol by volume. The drink, from the makers of Not Your Father’s Root Beer, Not Your Mom’s Apple Pie and other unique beers, is available in 12-ounce bottles and 24-ounce cans.
Scotland’s Innis & Gunn is bringing two small-batch, limited-edition beers to the United States this summer and fall. The beers will inaugurate two new series: Latitude and Longitude and Vanishing Point. The first addition to the Latitude and Longitude series is Raspberry Saison, which launched in late July. Later this year, the company will release Vanishing Point 01, an imperial stout matured in first-fill bourbon barrels for six months. Both beers will be served in 500-mL bottles in gift boxes. Innis & Gunn is imported into the United States by United States Beverage, Stamford, Conn.
