4 Stores, 4 Vastly Different Cold Vaults (Slideshow)

Store tours offer eye-opening look at the variety of ways retailers stock packaged beverages

DALLAS -- Twenty-two cold-vault doors here, an open-faced cooler there: There was no end to the variety of single-serve beverage presentations at the four stores that were part of CSP’s Convenience Retailing University conference’s store tours.

With 22 cooler doors, a QuikTrip convenience store in Dallas offered perhaps the most linear footage of packaged-beverage products, but grocer Whole Foods Market sandwiched its product in tightly.
