Anheuser-Busch Names Chibe to Lead U.S. Marketing

Has 20 years combined experience at Wrigley, Quaker Oats, Leaf
ST. LOUIS -- Anheuser-Busch, the U.S. subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev, has named Paul D. Chibe to lead its U.S. marketing division, responsible for its broad brand portfolio, which includes the world's largest-selling beers Bud Light and Budweiser, the company's brand goals, sports marketing, media buying and implementing marketing plans and strategies. Reporting to Dave Peacock, head of the U.S. Commercial division, Chibe begins in the position June 1.

"Paul has 20 years of marketing experience building diverse and well-known fast-moving consumer brands," said Peacock. "[image-nocss] We looked for someone with this deep and wide experience in reaching today's consumers with traditional and social media, experiential marketing and multicultural programs, and we found that in Paul. These are critical in appealing to beer drinkers, and we look forward to the insights he will bring to our great team of marketers here."

Chibe most recently was vice president and general manager of U.S. Gum & Mints business unit in Chicago at Wm. Wrigley Jr Co., where he worked in different marketing positions for more than 11 years. He also served as vice president of North America consumer marketing and vice president of U.S. consumer marketing at the company.

Before joining Wrigley, Chibe spent three years at Quaker Oats Co. in Chicago in marketing and new product assignments in their ready-to-eat cereal and convenience foods businesses. Prior to that, he worked for six years at Leaf Inc., now part of the Hershey Co., in assignments in finance and marketing on confection brands Whoppers, Milk Duds, PayDay and Jolly Rancher.

Chibe will transition into the role, which has been held on an interim basis by Frank Abenante, global vice president of brands and insights at the global company. Abenante will continue to work with Peacock and the group until Chibe's transition is completed.

Based in St. Louis, Anheuser-Busch brews the world's largest-selling beers, Budweiser and Bud Light. It also owns a 50% share in Grupo Modelo, Mexico's leading brewer.
