Circle K Launches New Talon Energy Shot

Seventh SKU in Fluid Motion-produced beverage line
CORONA, Calif. -- Circle K stores in the western United States, a division of Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc., and Fluid Motion Beverage Inc., have jointly launched 2-oz. Talon Energy Shots this month as a new line extension to the Talon Energy brand. Circle K now markets seven SKUs under the Talon label.

The Talon brand has been a proven winner for us over the years, and we feel our customers will embrace this new Talon Shot product as well, said Mark Wright, Circle K's Western Division beverage category manager. Our proprietary brands program has improved negotiating power with [image-nocss] our national brand partners and has allowed us to develop products targeted at the specific tastes, needs and wants of our Circle K consumers. Our exclusive arrangement lowers costs and makes it easier to get more aggressive on promotions, which are becoming more critical in this economy.

According to Paul Tecker, president of Fluid Motion Beverage, the shot category is growing tremendously and seems to be a natural line extension for the brand. Even though the shots have only been out in stores a few weeks, the reorders have exceeded our expectations.

Corona, Calif.-based Circle K West operates convenience stores in California, Oregon and Washington. Circle K is owned and operated by Laval, Quebec-based Couche-Tard. The company operates more than 4,900 convenience stores in Canada and the United States.
