GLENDALE, Calif. -- Nestle's Nesquik is giving the original protein drink a protein boost in an effort to draw new consumers.
The flavored-milk company launched Nesquik Protein Plus this month, debuting a new version of the traditional children's drink packed with 13 grams of protein per 8-ounce serving to help consumers—"adults young at heart"—reach their protein goals for the day. The common version of the drink contains 8 grams of protein per serving.
Protein Plus has 28% less sugar than the leading protein-enhanced flavored milks and contains no artificial sweeteners, according to the company. Nesquik Protein Plus contains 22 grams of sugar per 8 fluid ounces.
Like all Nesquik ready-to-drink products, it is made with real milk. It began shipping nationally in July 2016. Protein Plus is available in two flavors, chocolate and vanilla, in 14-ounce single-serve sizes.
