Jolt Energy Now Available at ampm

Beverage maker hopes deal will solidify presence in West
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Wet Planet Beverages and ampm have introduced Jolt Energy into the ampm coolers. C.J. Rapp, president of Rochester, N.Y.-based Wet Planet Beverages, said, "This new partnership will further solidify Jolt Energy's presence in the West."

Jolt Energy is packaged in multi-colored, 16-oz. bottles with a resealable cap to allow hours of carbonated energy. The energy drink has a target price of $1.99 for 2,200mg of active ingredients. It is available in seven flavors. Each flavor contains a generous dose of stimulating ingredients, including taurine, ginseng, [image-nocss] guarana, vitamin B complex and caffeine.

Jolt Cola was created in 1985 as an alternative to coffee. Included on every can and bottle was the memorable slogan "Twice the Caffeine.bCrLf In 2005, Jolt launched its new resealable aluminum bottle, the Jolt Battery Bottle. In January 2007, the beverage transitioned itself from an added value soft-drink to an energy drink. It added taurine, guarana, ginsing and B vitamins. Later in 2007, Jolt added two new flavors to the lineup, Wild Grape and Orange Blast.

The ampm brand was founded in 1978 in Southern California by ARCO, which was acquired by BP in 2000. ARCO-branded ampm stores are currently found in California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Arizona; BP-branded ampm stores are located in Chicago, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Orlando, Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Atlanta. BP markets more than 15 billion gallons of gasoline every year to U.S. consumers through 13,000 retail outlets. BP is the single, global brand formed by the combination of the former British Petroleum, Amoco Corp., Atlantic Richfield (ARCO), ARAL and Burmah Castrol. BP's retail operations are headquartered in La Palma, Calif.
