Kum & Go Asks Customers: 'Name Our Cup'

Kicks off summer promotion with free soda; 32-oz. soda to be 59 cents all season
WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Kum & Go LC kicked off its summer fountain drink contest, dubbed the "Name Our Cup Contest," on May 1 by giving customers a free soda with purchase. The contest is a first of its kind for the convenience store chain. Customers will submit names at the beginning of the summer for Kum & Go's 32-oz. cup and a new cup will be unveiled in September. The person who submits the winning name will receive $10,000.

As a part of the contest, 32-oz. soda will be sold for only 59 cents throughout the summer.

"We can't wait to see the creative names [image-nocss] that people come up with for our most popular soda fountain cup," said Kyle J. Krause, Kum & Go president and CEO. "We hope that our customers and associates have fun with this summer contest. Early feedback about the contest on our website and on Facebook has been outstanding."

To participate, customers can submit names online through the Kum & Go website,www.kumandgo.com (also at http://nameourcup.com) May 1 through June 30. Each week, a name will be drawn and the winner will receive a $250 gift card.

After all the submissions are in, customers can vote on the top five names online throughout the month of July. In September, the winning cup will be announced and available in Kum & Go stores for customers to fill up with their favorite soda.

West Des Moines, Iowa-based Kum & Go has more than 430 convenience stores in 11 states (Iowa, Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wyoming).
