Kum & Go Discounts Gas in Tulsa to Celebrate 50th

Anniversary promo also offers 59-cent fountain drinks throughout summer
TULSA, Okla. -- Starting July 27, Kum & Go is offering Tulsa, Okla., area customers deeply discounted gasoline for a limited time at select Kum & Go locations for its 50th anniversary celebration. From 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday, one Kum & Go store in Tulsa sold regular unleaded gasoline and diesel for $1.59 a gallon as part of the chain's "Summer of '59" promotion.

On Tuesday and Wednesday morning, additional Kum & Go gasoline discount locations in the Tulsa area will be announced before 7:00 a.m. on Tulsa radio station FM 92.1 KTBT. Inside the stores, [image-nocss] Kum & Go also will offer certain discounted products as part of the promotion. The following items will be 59 cents during same time period: Java Ridge coffee (all sizes), Krispy Kreme doughnuts, 32-oz. fountain drinks and sausage and cheese biscuit.

"This is Kum & Go's special way of saying thanks to Tulsa," said Kevin W. Krause, senior vice president of marketing. "We are proud of our 50 years of quality service to our customers and are excited the next 50 years of community partnership in Oklahoma."

The gasoline discount in Tulsa is one of many Kum & Go special prices and prizes happening across the country this summer. As part of its "Summer of '59" promotion, Kum & Go will award 59 winners a $1,000 Kum & Go gift card and one winner will win the grand prize of $50,000. Kum & Go is also offering our customers 32-oz. drinks for the special price of 59 cents.

Kum and Go's history can be traced back to 1959, when W.A. Krause and T.S. Gentle set out to meet the needs of a country that was quickly changing. "Two visionaries set out to create a fueling destination with a sense of 'convenience,' and today we celebrate being a leader in convenient retailing. We thank our patrons for their support and look forward to the next 50 years," said Kyle J. Krause, president and CEO.

The family-owned company began in 1959 in Hampton, Iowa, and has grown to more than 400 convenience stores in 12 states (Iowa, Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Wyoming and Wisconsin).
