Kum & Go Store Wars

Retailer launches fountain sales contest pitting its stores against each other
WEST DES MOINES, Iowa-- A competition among Kum & Go LC's more than 400 convenience stores, dubbed "Store Wars," began on May 1. Stores in the chain's eight regions will track their sales of fountain drinks and frozen carbonated beverages during the term of the promotion. At the end of the term of the promotion, one Kum & Go store from each region that, when compared with the other stores in its region, has the greatest percentage increase of unit growth sales of fountain drinks and frozen carbonated beverages as compared to the corresponding period in 2010, will sell 32[image-nocss] -oz. fountain drinks to its customers for 25 cents during the October 2011.

Customers can also root for their favorite store through Facebook and Twitter, and they can take a survey for a chance to win prizes, including free gasoline for a year.

The eight regions are Arkansas; Colorado; Iowa; Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota; Missouri; Nebraska; Oklahoma; and Wyoming. The promotion ends on August 31, 2011. The winning stores will be announced in September.

The contest website, found at
www.kumandgo.com/storewars, allows visitors to the page to see which Kum & Go location within each of the eight regions is leading the promotion as of the most recent update of the web page.

The website also tracks social media comments about the contest.
