Retailer forges distribution deal with Innovative Beverage Group
TORONTO -- Mac's Convenience Stores Inc., a division of Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc., has forged a distribution deal with Innovative Beverage Group Holdings Inc., creator of drank Extreme Relaxation, to bring drank to more than 900 communities throughout Central and Eastern Canada in the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario.

"Mac's has been closely monitoring the continued growth of the relaxation product category, and we want to bring in new innovative products for our customers," said Donna Yuen, senior marketing manager.

"[image-nocss] Mac's is an absolute staple amongst convenience stores throughout our northern neighbors' provinces and cities," said Peter Bianchi, CEO of Innovative Beverage Group. "By signing this distribution deal with a company renowned for giving customers what they ask for, we assure our Canadian friends that drank, will be on store shelves for years to come."

PX Enterprises Ltd. is drank's importer. The lightly carbonated, grape-flavored relaxation product uses melatonin, valerian root and rose hips to provide a relaxing effect for consumers. It was launched in select markets in early 2008.

Innovative Beverage Group, headquartered in Houston, engages in the distribution and wholesale of products in the New Age beverage category; drank is sold in prominent purple, signature 16-ounce cans bearing the slogan "slow your roll" and is available in convenience and grocery outlets throughout the United States. Innovative Beverage Group began operations as a distributor for national brands of beverage products including Jolt, Rock Star, Crystal Geyser, Sweet Leaf tea, Arizona Ice tea and Volvic Water. Although the company continues to distribute many of these well known brands in the greater Houston area, the expansion of Innovative's proprietary product division has become foremost in its business model.

Recent corporate strategies have been focused on the marketing and distribution of drank to accommodate the growing demand for the product. Innovative Beverage Group is also currently working to add additional proprietary products to its line that will complement drank and provide consumers with an array of concepts in the New Age beverage category.
