Industry vet joins drink company

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Jim Powers recently joined National Beverage Corp. as senior vice president of business development. His responsibilities include expanding the company's portfolio of brands in the convenience store and drug store channels.

Prior positions include vice president of sales for U.S. Nutrition Inc. (formerly MET-Rx/Rexall Sundown), a manufacturer of vitamins, herbals, nutritional supplements and consumer health products; and vice president of national accounts, as well as vice president and general manager for the convenience channel, [image-nocss] for Tropicana.

Powers has been actively involved in the convenience channel as a past board chairman for the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS), and he continues his support with board seats for NACS and Committee on Sportsmanship & Ethical Conduct (CSEC).

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-bases National Beverage is a national supplier of single-serve and multi-serve beverages, including brands such as Faygo, Shasta, Everfresh, Mr. Pure, La Croix and Rip It.
