Nestle Waters Extends Hipcricket Deal for Pantry Campaign

Powers mobile sweepstakes to promote regional spring water brands

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Nestle Waters North America Inc. has extended its relationship with Hipcricket Inc. by tapping the mobile solution provider to manage and execute its new mobile marketing campaign with The Pantry's Kangaroo Express. The campaign is designed to raise awareness and drive sales of Nestle Waters' Arrowhead, Deer Park, Ice Mountain, Ozarka and Zephyrhills regional brands.

For its latest mobile initiative, longtime Hipcricket client Nestle Waters is using Hipcricket's AD LIFE platform to power mobile calls-to-action for the "Kangaroo Express Summer Getaway Sweepstakes."

With approximately 1,600 locations across 13 states, Kangaroo Express is one of the largest independently operated convenience store chains in the country, offering a broad selection of food, beverages, merchandise and gasoline. The contest is advertised on Nestle Waters' point-of-sale (POS) materials, pumptoppers and cooler clings at Kangaroo Express locations.

Customers can text "WATER1" or "WATER2" to the shared shortcode 24474, or scan a quick response (QR) code to enter the sweepstakes. One grand prize winner will receive a travel package worth $6,000; 10 additional first prize winners will be awarded one $500 Kangaroo Express/The Pantry gift card. The campaign runs through June 30, 2012.

"To reach on-the-go consumers, it is imperative that we engage with them wirelessly through unique promotions that are relevant and entertaining," said Craig Stankevich, retail marketing manager at Stamford, Conn.-based Nestle Waters. "We have worked with Hipcricket on a number of mobile marketing campaigns over the years and trust that its expertise and market-leading technology platform will deliver solid campaign results."

The Hipcricket AD LIFE platform is built on an API architecture that is compatible with enterprises of all sizes and is customizable for any mobile user experience. AD LIFE empowers brands and agencies to launch mobile marketing and advertising campaigns along the mobile marketing lifecycle. AD LIFE helps clients plan, create, execute, assess and optimize all of their mobile marketing campaigns from one single platform. AD LIFE leverages Hipcricket's product suite to deliver results on time, on budget and in scope.

"While we believe QR codes are one of the most seamless means to access a mobilized experience, not everyone has a smartphone with a code-scanning application. By offering multiple means of engagement through both scanning and SMS, Nestle Waters will attract the maximum number of users for its campaign," said Doug Stovall, Hipcricket senior vice president of sales and client services.

Hipcricket, a wholly owned subsidiary of Augme Technologies, is a one-stop mobile marketing and advertising company that empowers brands, agencies and media properties to engage customers, drive loyalty and increase sales. Hipcricket's customers connect with consumers across every mobile channel, including SMS/MMS, 2D/QR codes, mobile websites, advertising via AD SERVE, Hipcricket's patented mobile ad platform, social media and branded apps. Its technology, strategic and marketing services and account management teams have provided measurable successes across 175,000 campaigns for many national and regional brand-name companies and organizations, such as Macy's, MillerCoors, Nestle, Clear Channel and The American Cancer Society. From building optimized mobile websites and landing pages using Hipcricket's patented device detection and rendering capabilities, to the execution of highly targeted mobile advertising campaigns using custom rich media development and analytics, Kirkland, Wash.-based Hipcricket delivers an end-to-end mobile marketing and advertising solution.
