NEW YORK -- Alexandre Médicis will become the new head of U.S. sales at beer brewer Anheuser-Busch Inc. effective Jan. 1, 2016.
Médicis was named vice president of U.S. sales this week and will take over the position at the beginning of the year. He joined Anheuser-Busch InBev in 2005 as merger and acquisitions director and has held several commercial positions over the last 10 years, including trade marketing, region vice president, and president of Hispanic Latin America. He has participated in the acquisition and integration of Quilmes in South America, Lakeport in Canada and Cervejaria Cintra in Brazil.
Alexandre has a degree in business administration from Fundação Getulio Vargas. He will move to New York in January with his wife Carolina and their three children.
Médicis fills the position as David Almeida is promoted to a global special project reporting to ABI Global CEO Carlos Brito.
Almeida came to the North American organization as vice president of finance after serving as head of mergers and acquisitions for InBev, where he spearheaded the combination with Anheuser‐Busch in 2008. He led the U.S. integration activities, drawing on his U.S. marketplace experience and knowledge he gained in a variety of assignments, including establishing the InBev brand import agreement with Anheuser‐Busch in 2007.
Almeida's move also will be effective Jan. 1.
Anheuser-Busch InBev is the leading global brewer and one of the world’s top-five consumer products companies. Its portfolio includes more than 200 beer brands, including global brands Budweiser, Corona and Stella Artois.
