New Packaging for Jolt

Now available in c-stores in re-sealable 16-oz. Rexam Cap Can

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Jolt Energy is now the world's first energy drink available to consumers in the re-sealable 16-oz. Rexam Cap Can with closure technology from Dayton Systems Group (DSG), according to the company.

Jolt's parent company, Wet Planet, has partnered with Rexam to deliver its energy drink in this new package that is 100% recyclable. It also keeps the beverage colder longer and protects from light, the company said. It is available now at convenience stores nationwide.

Jolt is available in seven flavors and contains ingredients such as taurine, ginseng, guarana, Vitamin [image-nocss] B complex and caffeine. Jolt first partnered with Rexam in 2005 to re-launch its brand with the 23.5-oz. Rexam Cap Can. The new 16-oz. size will deliver even broader consumer appeal, Jolt said.

C.J. Rapp, president of Rochester, N.Y.-based Wet Planet Beverages, said, "This new 16-oz. re-sealable package will allow us to reach even more consumers and provide them with portability options they never had before. We are confident this will help us build our brand by further differentiating our product on store shelves."

Available exclusively through London-based Rexam, the new 16-oz. Cap Can is made possible by combining Rexam's 16-oz. Quencher can body with Cap Can closure technology. The 16-oz. aluminum can body is produced and printed on one of Rexam's high-speed can manufacturing lines and then transformed into a re-sealable container by seaming on a Cap Can end and closure developed by DSG. Miamisburg, Ohio-based DSG developed this patented concept, including the forming process and equipment technology to manufacture the Cap Can closure assembly. Once complete, the packages are shipped to Pri-Pak, an independent beverage co-packer located in Lawrenceburg, Ind., where they are filled with the Jolt product. Rexam worked in partnership with Pri-Pak to develop a unique and flexible filling process for this exclusive beverage package.
