Skinny Nutritional Partners With JDRF

Maker of Skinny Water joins efforts to support type 1 diabetes research

BALA CYNWYD, Pa. -- Skinny Nutritional Corp., the maker of Skinny Water and a leader in the zero-calorie, zero-sugar enhanced water category, said that is has entered into a one-year national partnership with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), the global leader for finding cures and treatments for type 1 diabetes (T1D), to raise funds for T1D research.

Skinny Nutritional will also provide onsite support for 12 designated JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes events around the country.

The company will provide hydration stations at partnering JDRF chapter events to drive trial and awareness of Skinny Water beverages. The company is committing more than 50,000 bottles to support the JDRF community, and its brand ambassadors will provide product samples, coupons and other activities to promote the partnership.

The designated markets include Skinny Water's home-base, Philadelphia, in addition to Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., Richmond, Va., Charlotte, N.C., Palm Beach, Fla., Phoenix, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle.

Skinny Water also plans to promote its JDRF support through retail partners including Target, Walgreens, CVS, Harris Teeter, Draeger's and D'Agastino's.

Skinny Nutritional began its relationship with JDRF organically by being a product sponsor for local fundraising walks and events. The Skinny Water products became very popular within the event participants, the company said, offering a product focused on the health and wellness of calorie-conscious consumers.

"We recognize Skinny Nutritional Corporation's focus on health, fitness and community, and we thank them for their generosity and support in our mission to find better treatments and cures for type 1 diabetes," said Yvonne Miller, JDRF's national director of corporate partnership development.

"Skinny Water is one of very few beverages completely free of sugar, calories, sodium and carbohydrates, making it a full-flavor beverage of choice for millions of health conscious consumers," said Michael Salaman, chairman and CEO of Skinny Nutritional. "We are both excited and committed to our partnership with JDRF and our shared goals of helping people with diabetes live healthier lives."

The Skinny Water lineup features seven flavors, including Acai Grape Blueberry (Hi-Energy), Raspberry Pomegranate (Crave Control), Lemonade Passionfruit (Total-V), Orange Cranberry Tangerine (Wake Up) and as part of its Sport line: Blue Raspberry (Fit), Pink Berry Citrus (Power), and Goji Black Cherry (Shape). Every bottle of Skinny Water has key electrolytes, antioxidants and vitamins. Skinny Water is zero calories, sugar and sodium, with all natural colors and flavors and no preservatives.

Based in Bala Cynwyd, Pa., Skinny Nutritional is the creator of Skinny Water, zero-calorie, -sugar, -sodium and -carbohydrate flavored water with key functional ingredients to enhance your healthy lifestyle. Skinny Nutritional also expects to launch additional branded products, including Skinny Smoothies and other Skinny-branded beverages.
