Vita Coco Given Lemons, It Makes Lemonade

Latest coconut-water line extension hits shelves in April

NEW YORK -- To celebrate the brand’s 10th anniversary, Vita Coco coconut water brings together two popular drinks--fresh coconut water and homemade lemonade--to create Vita Coco Lemonade. The new all-natural beverage can be found in grocery, drug and convenience stores nationwide starting in April.

Vita Coco Lemonade

With the introduction of its new lemonade flavor, made with Vita Coco’s popular unflavored coconut water, natural lemon puree and a touch of natural fruit sugar, Vita Coco has balanced the citrus fruit’s classic tartness and created a nutrient-dense, thirst-quenching drink consumers can enjoy during and long after the dog days of summer.

Vita Coco Lemonade is available in two sizes, both with a re-sealable, twist off cap:

  • 11.1-fl.-oz. Tetra Pak, suggested retail price $1.99
  • 16.9-fl.-oz. Tetra Pack, suggested retail price $2.99

Vita Coco Lemonade becomes the brand’s sixth flavor and will debut at Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, Calif., on March 6, 2014. The beverage’s launch will be supported with experiential and digital marketing, and multi-market advertising with the message “Lemonade. Upgrade.”

Vita Coco coconut water, recognized for its refreshing, nutrient-dense hydration, replenishment and functionality, re-shaped the beverage aisle when it introduced its iconic coconut water in 2004. In the decade since it was adopted by health-conscious New Yorkers, Vita Coco has become a growing global brand sold in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia. In addition to its classic coconut water drinks, New York-based Vita Coco offers the Coco Cafe coffee and espresso drink line, as well as Vita Coco Kids.
