Chester 's Opens Second Location With Village Pantry

Two more locations coming within a few months for retailer

FISHERS, Ind. -- A Village Pantry Convenience Store in the Indianapolis suburb of Fishers, Ind., is the newest Chester's fried chicken restaurant location Another Village Pantry celebrated its grand opening of a Chester's unit in Indianapolis on June 25.

The Fishers Chester's celebrated its grand opening on July 25. Chester the Chicken was in attendance to help with the ribbon-cutting ceremony and to take grand opening photos with customers and employees. This grand opening is the second of four Chester 's set to open inside Village Pantry c-stores within the next few months.

"Chester [image-nocss] 's is a great opportunity for Village Pantry to help grow its strong foodservice programs with the highest quality Fried Chicken and side dishes to compliment our fresh made daily sandwiches and donuts," said Chad Prast, vice president of marketing with Village Pantry. "We are already seeing greater than expected results from our first Chester 's location and look forward to the same in many more locations soon."

Village Pantry, Indianapolis, has 184 locations in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana.

The Village pantry location will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner offering Chester 's signature menu options including Chester 's fried bone-in chicken, chicken tenders, potato wedges and biscuits. The newest Chester 's will also offer both dine-in and carryout options.

"Chester's is proud to have another great location in Indiana," said Richard Davis, vice president of systems management at Birmingham, Ala.-based Chester's International. "Each opening brings Chester's great chicken and sides to more people, and keeps the brand growing. Village Pantry has great people and we're excited they are on our team."

Chester's International is an emerging leader of quick-serve restaurant (QSR) concepts, especially for the convenience store industry, with more than 1,500 Chester Fried licensed and Chester 's franchised locations. Along with its products, it offers flexible size and store layout options, training and support. Other menu offerings include sandwiches, wraps, salads, breakfast and sides.

Indianapolis-based Marsh Supermarkets, purchased in 2006 by Boca Raton, Fla.-based Sun Capital Partners, spun off its Village Pantry division in 2007.
