Chester's in Fast 55

C-store foodservice concept sees 318% growth rate
MINNEAPOLIS -- Included in this year's Franchise Times magazine's "Fast 55," the ranking of the fastest growing, young franchises in the nation, is Birmingham, Ala.- based Chester's International Inc., a leader in fried chicken foodservice programs among convenience stores.

This is the sixth year Franchise Times has published the Fast 55. The list, compiled by FRANdata, a Washington, D.C.-based, research company that analyzes franchise information and data, focuses on companies that have only been franchising in the last five years. At the same time, these [image-nocss] companies' growth rate has been off the chart. For instance, the No. 1 company, Healthsource Chiropractic, had a 2,185% increase in units from 2002 to 2007. Chester's growth rate was 318%. In this year's list there were 17 industries and 40 sectors represented.

Chester's placed at No. 50 on the list.
