Chester's On The Fly on the Fox

Grab-and-go unit opens in Elgin, Ill.; additional Chester's sites open in Montana

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Chester's International, a leading fried chicken foodservice offering in the convenience store category, has announced several new openings. The newest Chester's Chicken on the Fly location can be found inside an ampm convenience store in Elgin, Ill., on the Fox River.

"We are excited about adding Chester's On The Fly to our ampm Store in Elgin, Ill.," said store owner Hemont Patel. "Chester's represents an opportunity to better serve our customers and give them the food they love."

Chester's Chicken on the Fly is a grab-and-go concept that offers customers a convenient meal solution. The prepackaged menu provides options for breakfast, lunch and dinner including chicken tenders, boneless wings, potato wedges and biscuits.

It includes The Nest Egg, a freestanding kiosk. This design is integrated throughout the package to include the menu offering, store and menu signage and packaging.
"This concept offers convenience stores with a minimal footprint and investment," said James Venable, vice president of operations for Chester's, when the concept was launched in 2010,

"Chester's is proud to have another great location in Illinois," Venable said of the new Elgin site. "Each opening brings Chester's great chicken and sides to more people and keeps the brand growing. ampm has great people, and we are excited they are on our team."

Chester's also announced the re-grand opening of a location in Whitefish, Mont., in the West Side Grocery, near Glacier National Park.

This Chester's location was recently renovated and updated. West Side Grocery starts cooking at 9:00 a.m., allowing customers to access Chester's bone-in chicken and tenders all day. It will also offer Chester's signature potato wedges and biscuits as well as many other menu offerings to be complemented with Chester's branded sauces.

"We have been a Chester's customer for over 16 years. Our customers love the quality and consistency that the Chester's program offers. Chester's has been the perfect fit for my store," said Frank Barnes, owner of West Side Grocery.

"Seeing Frank so enthusiastic about the Chester's brand and the renovation lets me know his commitment," said Mike Fyre, a franchise business consultant for Chester's International. "We are proud to offer a franchise program that will enable him to boost sales and maintain a quality product that his customers love."

And Chester's has announced the re-grand opening of a location in Helena, Mont., in the Heritage Food Store which sits at the base of the famous Sleeping Giant mountain.

This Chester's location was recently renovated and updated, as well. Heritage Food Store opens at 7:00 am, allowing for customers all day access to Chester's great tasting bone-in chicken and tenders. They will also offer Chester's potato wedge as well as many other menu offerings to be complemented with Chester's branded sauces.

"Chester's brings consistency, ongoing support and great tasting chicken to our location," said Tyson Jackson, owner of Heritage Food Store. "We are excited to be part of the Chester's team."

Birmingham, Ala.-based Chester's is a leader of quick-serve restaurant (QSR) concepts with more than 1,800 Chester Fried licensed and Chester's franchised locations. Along with its menu, Chester's offers flexible size and store layout options, training and support. Chester's uses only fresh chicken that is specially marinated and double-breaded using a proprietary family recipe and offers bone-in, tenders and potato wedges as well as sandwiches, wraps, salads, breakfast and sides.
