Chester's Names Love's 2006 Franchisee of Year

First, largest franchisee receives Franny Award

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Fried chicken foodservice purveyor Chester's International has named Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores Inc. as its 2006 Franchisee of the Year.

Sponsored by the International Franchise Association, the Franny Award recognizing the Franchisee of the Year will be awarded during recognition ceremonies at the IFA Annual Convention on February 24 to 27 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Love's is being recognized as the best franchisee within the Chester's system for achievements in sales performance, exceeding [image-nocss] branding and merchandising standards and employing consistent, quality operations at all locations.

We are honored to be named as Chester's Franchisee of the Year, said Joe Cotton, director of restaurant services for Oklahoma City-based Love's. Being recognized for taking pride and supporting our Chester's locations is just icing on the cake after all of the success we've seen with the concept.

Love's is Chester's first franchisee of record, having signed on in June 2004, and currently is the largest franchise operator in the system with 27 Chester's and Chester Fried locations in travel plazas across the United States. Love'swhich has a total of 140 Travel Stops & Country Storesis slated to add an additional eight Chester's throughout 2007.

Love's is a model franchisee with beautiful locations in high-traffic travel plazas across the country, said Chester's president Russ Cooper. We are recognizing Love's for their professionalism and contribution in strengthening our brand through quality operations.

Birmingham, Ala.-based offers quick-serve restaurant (QSR) concepts with more than 1,700 Chester Fried licensed and Chester's franchised locations. It offers flexible size and store layout options, training and support. And it uses only fresh chicken that is specially marinated and double-breaded using a proprietary family recipe and offers bone-in, tenders and potato wedges as well as sandwiches, wraps, salads, breakfast and sides.
