Clearly Profitable Packaging'

Hot Stuff debuts new design, new recipies

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Hot Stuff Foods has a new look, and some new tastes. The company has unveiled a new packaging design that gives the customer an increased view of the product within, as well as new recipes for a half-dozen of its breakfast items.

Our new packaging is designed with an expanded window so Hot Stuff customers can see the quality of our products, said vice president of marketing Roxanne Van Loon. The expression 'people eat with their eyes' is especially true in convenience store foodservice, and our new see-through packaging gives the [image-nocss] consumer an initial indication of the quality they're about to taste.

Van Loon added, Of course, the presentation of the product's quality is confirmed after the first bite, so we've also refined a few of our recipes. Our new biscuits offer a more consistent appearance and better overall dough performance, along with a flakier, more buttery taste. The new and improved croissants have a more traditional appearance and a lower cost for franchisees. Our popular Cinnobabies are now trans-fat free, twice the size of our original Cinnobabies and made with a new recipe that triples the frozen shelf-life of these mini gourmet cinnamon rolls.

She said the new packaging and new recipes are now available on select breakfast items including Cinnobabies; Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit; Sausage, Egg & Pepper Jack Cheese Biscuit; French Toast & Maple Sausage; Ham, Egg &Cheese Croissant; and Bacon, Egg & Cheese Croissant.

National research is touting the explosive growth of breakfast (over 60% in the last five years), said Van Loon, and a recent 120-store test with the new Hot Stuff Foods recipes and packaging reflected a dramatic lift in breakfast sales. These results have inspired our tag line for the new product/packaging marketing program: 'Clearly Profitable Packaging'.
