INDIANAPOLIS -- Dunkin' Donuts will saturate the central Indiana market with 80 locations over the next six years, reported the Associated Press.
The Canton, Mass.-based baked goods, coffee and breakfast foods chain also is scouting for franchisees to open sites in Fort Wayne, South Bend and other Indiana cities, Lynette McKee, vice president of franchising, told the news agency.
The first Indianapolis-area store is planned to open in August in Carmel. Another is set to open the following month on the north side of Indianapolis, [image-nocss] where an old Dunkin' Donuts was located. Currently there are no central Indiana locations.
Dunkin' Donuts wants to open freestanding stores along commuter routes. But it is also looking to open kiosks in gas stations, convenience stores, office buildings or hotels, it said.
Don Moore, president of Miracle Restaurant Group of New Orleans, which operates Arby's restaurants in Colorado and Chicago, said his company is planning to open 25 Dunkin' Donuts in the northern half of Marion County, Ind., and the fast-growing areas of Carmel, Fishers and Zionsville.Members help make our journalism possible.
