NORFOLK, Va. -- It's Spam, Twinkies and Vienna Sausage on the menu of some of Hampton Roads' top restaurants for one week only, September 14-23. Miller Oil's Eat Good! Do Good! is giving diners a chance to sample the innovative and creative dishes prepared by notable chefs from the 2007 Miller's Neighborhood Market-Hampton Roads Magazine Convenience Store Cook Off.
The May Cook Off event gave five Hampton Roads area chefs $25 and 25 minutes in the Miller's Neighborhood Market c-store at Old Dominion University. In less than an hour, they were asked to [image-nocss] prepare a world-class entr ae and dessert using the kitchens at Norfolk's Tidewater Community College. The same winning dishes will be featured during the Eat Good! Do Good! week. When patrons purchase one of these menu items, proceeds will benefit charities each chef has identified as their own special cause and the Miller Oil Foundation.
In addition, the results can be sampled at home using the Cook Off souvenir recipe book available at the Hampton Roads locations of Miller's Neighborhood Markets. All proceeds from the book sale will also benefit the Miller Oil Foundation.
