Flash Market Remodels Five Chester's Sites in West Memphis, Ark., Area

Retailers in Michigan, Ohio also add chicken QSR concept for c-stores

WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. -- Flash Market Inc. has remodeled and reopened five of its seven Chester's chicken locations in the West Memphis, Ark., marketplace.

Flash Market has 121 gas stations and convenience stores in Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee (91 company-operated stores and 30 dealer- and jobber-operated stores).

The Chester's restaurants are open seven days a week with dedicated staff to serve customers. "We are very excited to continue with this venture with Chester's Chicken. Chester's adds image and quality to our brand awareness in our food service. With a Chester's marketing plan and our operational strengths, we hope to sell a lot of chicken," said Keith Brown, foodservice director for West Memphis-based Flash Market.

"These restaurants are located in a prime spot off I-40. We are excited to have these units as members of the Chester's family," said Loyd Jones, president of Moore Food Systems, which supports Chester's is supported by Moore Food Systems in the East Texas and Arkansas region.

In other Chester's news, Hilltop Express gas station and c-store in Newaygo, Mich., and Hilltop Shopping Center c-store and gas station in White Cloud, Mich., have added Chester's restaurants.

"We are excited to be part of the Chester's family. We now have a chicken program that provides support to promote the growth and profitability of our deli," said Alex Chelsey, owner of Hilltop Shopping Center and Hilltop Express.

"Chester's is happy to welcome Hilltop Shopping Center and Hilltop Express to our network. Alex and his staff have done a great job in the conversion of the restaurant," said Dennis Lesavich, franchise business consultant with Chester's.

And Boland's Mini Mart in West Portsmouth, Ohio,  has added Chester's chicken quick-serve restaurant (QSR) concept to its c-store.

"My parents were in the Chester's family. I'm definitely excited to open my very own Chester's to serve great food to the community," said Chris Boland. Boland's parents, Terry and Sheila Boland, have been a part of the Chester's family for the past 11 years.

"It has been a pleasure working with Chris. He is going to do a great job and I'm very excited about the success he will have," said Dennis Lesavich, franchise business consultant for Chester's.

Birmingham, Ala.-based Chester's is a leader of QSR concepts with more than 1,900 Chester Fried licensed and Chester's franchised locations. Along with its menu, Chester's offers flexible size and store layout options, training and support. Chester's uses only fresh chicken that is specially marinated and double-breaded using a proprietary family recipe and offers bone-in, tenders and potato wedges as well as sandwiches, wraps, salads, breakfast and sides.
