Foodservice Top Focus at NYACS Convention

One attendee to win free lodging at FARE 2009
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Attendees of the New York Association of Convenience Stores (NYACS) trade show and convention, May 13-14 in Syracuse, N.Y., will have the opportunity to look inside the country's top R&D kitchens in the workshop "Full-Throttle Food Service Innovations." Presenter Abbie Westra of CSP Information Group Inc.'s Fare magazine will offer ideas on how to run a successful c-store foodservice program with insights from leading R&D chefs and scientists.

Attendees will also explore trends in ingredients, packaging and equipment, as well as the essential [image-nocss] business building blocks to a solid foodservice program.

After a golf outing and welcome reception on Wednesday, Thursday's schedule will offer "Full-Throttle Food Service Innovations" and three other concurrent workshops. Tom Hart of Targeted Solutions will discuss tuning up profits in tough economic times. Environmental attorney Gary S. Bowitch will help attendees avoid penalties from DEC inspectors. And Patrick Wilbur of Southern Tier Vending will explore PCI compliance and security.

Keynote speaker Fran Duskiewicz of Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes will offer a "Statistical Portrait of Today's C-Store Industry" after Thursday's workshops, followed by the opening of the trade show floor.
