Cumberland Farms giving away coffee for New Year's Eve to promote safe driving
CANTON, Mass. -- This New Years Eve, from 5:00 p.m. on New Years Eve until 5:00 a.m. on New Years Day, all Cumberland Farms locations will be giving away a cup of its new Farmhouse Blend and original hot coffee. This is the retailer's second year making the offer.

Cumberland Farms is encouraging drivers to take advantage of this community service. Citing statistics from the National Sleep Foundation, it said that 60% of Americans have driven while feeling sleepy. The group advises that a combination of caffeine and naps as one of the best ways to help fight drowsiness, a [image-nocss] leading cause of accidents.

"We want drivers to be safe and alert on the roads this holiday season," said Ari Haseotes, president of Cumberland Farms, Canton Mass. "This free coffee is a way for us to say thanks to our customers, especially during these trying economic times."

The free coffee is available at all Cumberland Farms stores across the Northeast and Florida except for those with Dunkin Donuts service.
