John Daly Tees Up New Pizza Concept

Pro golfer branding offer for c-stores, other nontraditional locations
TAMPA, Fla. -- Professional golfer and sports icon John Daly, in partnership with Perky's Foodservice Concepts Inc. is launching the new John Daly Pizza Program. The new program provides food and revenue in venues such as golf courses, convenience stores, bowling centers, truckstops, casinos, bars or any other existing business.

"My pizza is a 350-yard drive down the middle! The quality and taste of my pizza will exceed your expectations, and it all starts with the finest ingredients available," said Daly. "Grip it and eat it!"

The program is focused on a revenue-generating [image-nocss] compact pizzeria developed and perfected by Tampa, Fla.-based Perky's and based on its 23-year history in the "business-within-a-business" model.

Through several focus groups, The John Daly Pizza Brand showed far-reaching appeal and is currently generating foodservice revenues in golf courses and restaurants, the company said.

"When we added John Daly's Pizza to our menu, the increase in food sales was immediate. Our members will call minutes before they arrive at the course and order a 7-inch pizza to be ready for them before they tee off. They love it. The set up offered by the John Daly Pizza package is great. Everything is right in front of you to make a large variety of pizzas in a matter of minutes... After adding the John Daly product, pizza is now probably 75% of our food sales," said Mark Fairbanks, general manager, Lion's Den Golf Course, Dardanelle, Ark.

"This is a great combination of things Americans love, pizza and John Daly. JD has a keen eye for quality and simplicity, so we were a natural avenue to develop a worldwide brand for him. He is very active promoting his pizza business, and depending on your John Daly Pizza program, you will have the chance to hang out with John, and win tickets to a PGA golf tournament,"

The primary focus is operational simplicity, using equipment that is easy to maintain and a system that is easy to implement. This simple program provides a quality pizza product, with large and personal-sized pizzas, as well as other menu options like chicken wings with a selection of sauces.

Perky's has more than 600 operators, both domestically and internationally, in a variety of venues including: bowling centers, skating centers, golf courses, family entertainment centers, c-stores, military installations, hotels and bars.
