Juice It Up to Debut 1st Convenience-Store Location

Enters market with a mobile app drive-thru format and self-serve kiosks

IRVINE, Calif. -- Juice It Up, an Irvine, Calif.-based raw juice bar and handcrafted smoothie chain franchise, is moving into convenience stores, with its first retail location set to launch in early 2018. Scheduled to debut inside a Fresh Fill Convenience Store unit in Los Banos, Calif., the location will be the chain’s first to feature a mobile-app drive-thru format along with a self-serve kiosk ordering system.

Operated by Juice It Up franchisees Brian Rocha and Brett Windecker of Fresh Fill Convenience Stores Inc., this first-of-its kind concept complements Juice It Up’s portfolio, the company said, as it continues expansion of nontraditional units, which include locations on college campuses and in malls, airports and gyms nationwide.

With the new concept, customers can place an order for Juice It Up via Fresh Fill’s mobile app. Juice It Up’s full menu of raw juices, handcrafted smoothies and bowls may also be ordered using a self-serve kiosk located inside the store. The order is then delivered straight to the guest by a Fresh Fill employee.

“We wanted to build a concept that would serve as a one-stop shop for busy consumers, adding a unique mobile-ordering system enabling purchases without ever having to leave their car,” said Rocha, operating partner. “It was important to us to be able to provide our guests with healthy snack and meal options not typically offered by traditional convenience stores, and Juice It Up’s simple menu and operations model was the perfect fit for our vision.”

Reporting seven consecutive quarters of substantial sales increases, Juice It Up is on a growth path, with new franchise partners, while existing franchisees continue to invest in the brand, according to the company. Juice It Up currently has 100 units open or under development in five states.

“We’re proud to partner with entrepreneurs who are passionate about today’s evolving technologies and who are making it even easier for guests to enjoy Juice It Up’s raw juices and smoothies,” said Carol DeNembo, vice president of business development for the company. “It’s exciting to see our franchise partners answer the growing demands of today’s consumers with innovation that adds an extra layer of convenience to the Juice It Up experience.”
