CARY, N.C. --The Pantry Inc. is celebrating National Coffee Day on Sept. 29 by offering a 12-oz. Bean Street Coffee for one penny to customers at its more than 1,500 Kangaroo Express convenience stores between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. (one per guest, while supplies last).
Customers can also get Bean Street Coffee using the 2014 ROO Mug. The reusable coffee mug retails for $1.99 plus tax, and they can refill it for 99 cents plus tax all year long.
Customers who purchase a ROO Mug through Oct. 31 will also receive a free Maple Sausage Pancake Roller by Oscar Mayer at grill-ready stores.
"National Coffee Day is a great way to show our appreciation for loyal guests that 'wake up at The Roo' by fueling up, hopping in for a tasty, on-the-go Maple Sausage Pancake Roller or a hot, fresh cup of Bean Street Coffee," said Gordon Schmidt, senior vice president of operations for Kangaroo Express. "We invite our guests to join The Roo in celebrating National Coffee Day with a one-cent cup of Bean Street Coffee and enjoy year-long savings with the ROO Mug."
Fans can also sign up for the Kangaroo Express text message ROO Club to receive ROO Mug deals, such as free ROO Mug refills, sent to their phone. They can text ROOCLUB to THEROO or 843766, to join.
Bean Street Coffee is the proprietary brand of coffee served only at Kangaroo Express convenience stores. It can be customized with options such as sweeteners and flavor shots, including caramel and vanilla and additions such as extra boosts of caffeine and whipped topping. Cappuccinos, flavored coffee and tea are also available and are included in the National Coffee Day and ROO Mug offers.
A seasonal favorite of guests, pumpkin spice cappuccino is being served up hot at Kangaroo Express stores through the end of October.
As of July 30, 2014, The Pantry operated 1,525 convenience stores in 13 states under select banners, including its primary operating banner, Kangaroo Express.
