Kwik Trip Shakes Up Milkshakes

Upgrades f’real blending system in all stores

LA CROSSE, Wis. -- In March, convenience-store retailer KwikTrip Inc., in partnership with f’real foods, is launching f’real’s latest blending system, upgrading to the B4 blender in all of its more than 500 retail locations in the Midwest.

The B4 blender is a significant upgrade from the original B2 blending system, while still incorporating a self-service system that blends customizable milkshakes, smoothies and frozen cappuccinos from cups pre-filled with real and wholesome ingredients.

“Self-sanitization is a significant upgrade,” said Dinsh Guzdar, CEO of f’real foods. “There is no need to dismantle equipment or use chemicals to maintain the blender. This reduces maintenance considerably. The blender internally power washes after each use enabling back-to-back blending with no flavor crossover. It also has an interactive touchscreen with dynamic content to keep customers engaged, as well as service alert connected directly to f’real’s customer service center allowing for automatic diagnostic checks, notifications and on-demand troubleshooting--significantly decreasing any loss of cup sales due to down time.”

Along with the Kwik Trip chain-wide rollout, f’real foods is launching its spring limited-edition flavor, Glazed Donut, with the company’s first-ever rewards program, Drink A Dozen, that incentivizes consumers to purchase f’real to earn credits towards music, movies, games and apps.

Additionally, f’real and Kwik Trip are partnering on other promotions throughout the year to drive trial and awareness in stores.

f’real foods’ patented in-store blending systems blend authentic milkshakes, smoothies and frozen cappuccinos all made with real ingredients. The company now designs, sells and markets its blended frozen beverages in more than 16,000 locations across the United States and Canada including convenience stores, theaters, military bases and colleges and universities. f’real foods is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rich Products Corp., Emeryville, Calif.

La Crosse, Wis.-based Kwik Trip owns and operates 515 Kwik Trip and Kwik Star convenience stores, as well as Hearty Platter Restaurants and Tobacco Outlet Plus stores, in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa.
