Laredo Taco Launches LTO 'El Grito' Taco

Shouting contest offers customers chance to win $500 gift card

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas --Stripes Convenience Stores' Laredo Taco Co. has launched a new limited-time-only spicy chicken fajita taco called "El Grito," and to celebrate, customers will have the chance to win a $500 Stripes gift card by entering the Grito contest.

A grito is a traditional Mexican shout that originated on Mexican Independence Day.

Until Sept. 28, participating customers will be able to upload a video of themselves "throwing their best Grito" on the Stripes Facebook page.

Facebook fans will have the opportunity to choose their favorite contestant by voting for the best "Grito" on the Stripes Facebook page under the Grito contest tab, Sept. 29 through Oct. 3, 2014. The video with the most votes will win a Stripes $500 gift card and free Laredo Taco Co. lunch tacos for a month. The company will announce the winner on the Stripes Facebook page on Oct. 4, which is National Taco Day.

Corpus Christi, Texas-based Susser Holdings Corp. operates more than 630 convenience stores in Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma, more than 580 under the Stripes banner and 47 under the Sac-N-Pac banner. Restaurant service is available in more than 400 of its stores, primarily under the proprietary Laredo Taco Co. brand.
