TUCUMCARI, N.M.--A new $6 million Love's Country Store opened its doors for business late last week in Tucumcari, N.M., reported The Quay County Sun.
The new Love's replaces an older, smaller fuel station and convenience store for truckers and travelers. The expansion doubled its diesel lanes to eight and brought its gasoline lanes up to six, said the report.
The new Love's opened as scheduled, Love's Country Store public relations director Jenny Love Meyer told the newspaper.
"The new location opened without [image-nocss] any major delays," she said. "In addition to the new location, we have added 25 new employees and three new managers to the existing team of 15 employees and two managers."
The 4,321-square-foot building is split in two halves with the Love's Country Store on one side and the eatery on the other side. At the front of the building, there are six fuel lanes with two gasoline pump stations per lane totaling 12 pumps. The eight diesel lanes are located behind the building away from the area where automotive travelers refuel and park.
The old location had parking for 25 semi-trucks while the new one can accommodate 102.
And Chester's Fried Chicken and Godfather's Pizza restaurants have been joined by Arby's restaurant, said the report.
