McLane Rolls Out Grab & Go Hot Foods Program

Offers new c-store foodservice menu

TEMPLE, Texas -- McLane, a leading supply chain services company, has rolled out a new Grab & Go Hot Foods program that addresses the growing demand for hot prepared foods at a fair price. The retail foodservice program includes an array of products and equipment solutions to help convenience stores meet growing customer demand for affordable, prepared foods.

In 2009, it said, c-store foodservice growth outpaced traditional quick-service restaurants, and retailers are struggling to keep up with the growth. Customers consider value, quality and taste to be the most important [image-nocss] factors when deciding on a prepared food purchase at a store. McLane's new program introduces solutions to satisfy these customers with extensive product selections at affordable prices.

Roller-grill items such as hot dogs, grilled wraps, egg rolls and breakfast sausages as well as warmer selections such as breakfast sandwiches, burritos and burgers are among the wide array of products offered through this program.

"Many retailers are recognizing the growing demand for foodservice options but aren't able to provide the quality and selection required to draw these buyers," said Grant Demers, product director for foodservice and supplies for McLane. "By offering retailers this new program, we're hoping to alleviate these obstacles and provide scalable solutions that promote both customer satisfaction and incremental revenue."

McLane's new Grab & Go Hot Foods program includes equipment recommendationssuch as roller grills, heated snack merchandisers and warmersto retailers seeking ways to kick start sales in a rapidly emerging market. The equipment available comes in a variety of sizes and configurations, allowing retailers to tailor their selection for each store and customer base.
