Mother Parkers' Tea Tops in Category

Classic Southern Iced Tea Concentrate honored at North American Tea Championship
FORT WORTH, Texas -- Mother Parkers Tea & Coffee has announced that its Classic Southern Sweetened Iced Tea Concentrate won First Place in its category in the 2011 North American Tea Championship. The Award was presented on June 1 in advance of the World Tea Expo.

Mother Parkers' Classic Southern Iced Tea concentrates were created to meet consumer demand for a premium quality, authentic, better-tasting iced tea in concentrate format made from real tea. The concentrates, which are available in both sweetened and unsweetened blends in BIB (bag-in-box) format, were launched [image-nocss] in January 2011 in the U.S. foodservice channel after being well received by customers at the National Association of Convenience Stores' NACS Show in October 2010.

"This recognition from The North American Tea Championship formally confirms that we have achieved what we set out to do--create a premium quality iced tea concentrate that tastes better than the competition," said Rick Fiamelli, Mother Parkers' vice president of the tea division.

Rusty James, vice president of foodservice sales added, "This award validates what we already knew, that we have a great tasting product."

The North American Tea Championship is an independent competition, judged by professional cuppers, leading retail buyers of tea and restaurateurs to distinguish the highest quality and best-tasting teas commercially available in the North American marketplace.

Mother Parkers' Classic Southern Iced Tea is also available in fresh brew formats. All Classic Southern Iced Tea (concentrate and fresh brew) is made in the United States.

Fort Worth, Texas-based Mother Parkers Tea & Coffee is a family-owned company and one of the largest coffee and tea manufacturers in North America. The company produces and markets its own brands under the Higgins & Burke, Mother Parkers, Brown Gold and Martinson labels, as well as develops private-label solutions for some of North America's largest foodservice and retail chains.
