NACS CAFÉ was a four-day certification session conducted at the Georgia State University Hospitality Center at the Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta. NACS designed the course for experienced convenience-store managers and multi-unit managers of stores with existing foodservice operations. Class content focused on foodservice systems, menu and product management, marketing opportunities, foodservice personnel management, fiscal management and controls, food safety systems and management's role in the growth of the foodservice segment.

Certification is accredited by the Georgia State University School of Hospitality.

"Foodservice is still very important to our members, and we will continue to support their training and development needs in numerous areas, at NACS events and providing assistance adhering with new FDA menu labeling regulations," Michael Davis, vice president of member services at NACS, told CSP Daily News.

While the live sessions have been ended, NACS will continue to offer the courses online through its relationship with Elizabethtown, Pa.-based Ready Training Online (RTO), Davis confirmed. NACS launched the Category Management Online Training course with Impact 21 Group and Ready Training Online (RTO) in March 2014.

NACS CAFÉ education director Nancy Caldarola, who left NACS in January, is now general manager of The Food Training Group, Atlanta.

Founded in 1961, Alexandria, Va.-based NACS is the international association for convenience and fuel retailing. It has 2,100 retail and 1,600 supplier member companies, which do business in nearly 50 countries.
