Bestows Hedy Halpert Diversity Awareness Award

DALLAS -- The Network of Executive Women (NEW) awarded Jennie Jones, vice president of marketing at S&D Coffee Inc., the Hedy Halpert Diversity Awareness Award at the group's annual meeting in Dallas recently.

This award is given annually to a person in the industry who makes diversity awareness a priority, and it is named for founding member and industry icon Hedy Halpert. She was a supporter of both the industry and the concept of building a diverse and inclusive workforce.

A convenience store veteran, Jones began her career [image-nocss] with Southland Corp., holding various positions in purchasing, sales and marketing and working extensively with the 7-Eleven Franchise Coalition. She joined Crown as vice president of merchandising and for five years worked to help foster and support Crown's diversity initiatives around the Preferred Workplace.

She serves on the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) Supplier Board, the Convention Committee and is chairperson of the Membership and Communications Committee.
