Phillips 66 Buying Program Forges Foodservice Equipment Partnership

Convenience Store Alliance offering discounts through foodpros.com

NORMAN, Okla. -- The Convenience Store Alliance (CSA), also known as the Phillips 66 Branded Retail Buying Program, has formed a partnership with foodpros.com, offering national discount pricing on foodservice equipment and merchandizing items.

CSA members receive discount pricing on foodpros.com, where they may browse more than 3,500 products from hot-dog roller grills, pizza ovens and warmers to bakery cases, kitchen utensils, food storage and more.

Foodservice is “one of the fastest growing and highest gross-margin categories in the industry,” said CSA president and CEO Mike Lawson. “Independent owner/operators can’t afford to wait to get into the foodservice game. We’re excited to offer our c-store owners an easy, affordable way to venture into this high-demand category.”

“For smaller operations without the space for a kitchen, we have numerous easy-to-use items to meet customer demand, without requiring a large footprint or hiring new staff,” said foodpros director Andy Erdman. “We recommend a small warmer for sandwiches, pizzas or bakery items, or even a small roller grill to start serving hot dogs.”

CSA helps independent convenience-store operators nationwide to compete with large chain stores. It gives storeowners access to reduced costs on products, resources to boost business efficiency and solutions for business growth. For the western half of the United States, CSA is the Phillips 66 Branded Retailer Buying Program and is available to more than 7,000 branded sites that sell Phillips 66, Conoco or 76 branded gasoline. Dealers and fuel distributors outside the exclusive territories also are eligible to participate, regardless of brand affiliation.

Foodpros Rolls Out New Website

Separately, Middleton, Wis.-based foodpros.com has rolled out Rollergrill.com, a foodservice and foodservice equipment website.

The website has been designed to act as a hub, or destination spot, that provides resources specifically relating to foodservice. The company is aiming the site at retailers, food and equipment manufacturers, foodservice distributors and brokers, as well as business owners across the foodservice industry.

“We created this site because our retailer and food manufacturer clients continue to ask us how to maximize their roller grill category sales and profits,” said Erdman. “The news, blog posts and links that we have hunted down and provided to our clients are all handy in one place.”

Rollergrill.com features news and trends from industry websites including CSPDailyNews.com, provides downloadable resources and highlights leading foodservice manufacturers’ products. Rollergrill.com also guides buyers interested in purchasing roller-grill equipment, merchandising and smallwares.

No account is required for access and there is no membership fee.

Rollergrill.com has links to food product manufacturers, equipment manufacturers and to foodpros.com, an e-commerce site Food Concepts Inc. launched in 2012, with equipment, merchandising and smallwares solutions from the industry’s top manufacturers, including APW Wyott, Nemco, Star, Wisco, Cambro, Vollrath and more.
