Prioritize Foodservice in 2012

FARE 2012 registration open, agenda released

OAK BROOK, Ill. -- The growth potential for foodservice at retail continues to expand, with c-stores, grocers, nontraditional and noncommercial segments expected to increase sales this year (click here and here for two recent reports). But with these opportunities also comes increased competition for share of mind--and share of stomach. Operators must stay on the cutting edge of education and ideation, and the fifth-annual Foodservice at Retail Exchange, to be held June 25-27 in Chicago, was designed with that goal in mind.

Registration is now open for FARE 2012, along with the conference’s complete educational agenda, at www.foodserviceatretail.com. Operators who register before Feb. 15 will be eligible to win their choice of an 11-inch 64GB MacBook Air or a 16GB iPad2. Click here to register and read more conference details.

“This year’s agenda delivers a balance of tactical education translated for foodservice at retail--health and wellness, food safety, mobile marketing--as well as renowned national speakers presenting on leadership and motivation,” says Abbie Westra, executive editor of Fare magazine. “Paired with cross-channel networking opportunities you can experience only at FARE, this continues to be a conference like no other.”

Educational highlights include:

  • “A Lesson in Leadership: How to Increase Your Influence & Impact,” by Ty Bennett, founder of Leadership Inc.;
  • "Trend Translations”: the latest sales data and consumer trends, translated by an operator panel of Jennifer Vespole of Quick Chek Corp., Kris Klinger of University of Southern California and Angelo Mojico of UNC Hospitals;
  • “Vantage Points of Inspiration,” presented by Chad Hymas;
  • “On the Menu: Turning Restaurant Trends Into Retail Opportunities,” with Mark DiDomenico of Datassential;
  • “FARE Share,” a special series in which industry leaders are challenged to speak on a topic crucial to the industry--each in 18 minutes or less. Presenters include Lon Southerland of Marriott International and Bill Reilly of F&B Marketing Solutions.

The two-day event includes nearly 10 hours of education and unique networking opportunities, such as the annual FARE After-Dark Lounge. The Food Pavilion allows operators to see the latest food, equipment and beverage products and meet with suppliers to find solutions for their businesses.
