Darker roast will be chain’s signature regular joe

WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. -- Continuing its commitment to total customer dedication, QuickChek is making what America has voted the best cup of coffee in the country even tastier.

The Whitehouse Station, N.J.-based convenience-store chain is introducing its new Reserve Blend coffee in all of its 138 stores throughout New Jersey and New York’s Hudson Valley beginning Sept. 29.

“We have been carefully watching industry trends and customer preferences in our stores and feel that this new blend of coffee is best suited to meet our customers’ needs and tastes,” said QuickChek CEO Dean Durling. “It is made from our proprietary-select blend that incorporates only the world’s finest beans for a richer, bolder, more flavorable taste.”

The new Reserve Blend will be roasted slightly darker and serve as the chain’s signature regular coffee while all other roasts, varieties and flavored coffees remain the same. To celebrate, any sized coffee purchased between 4 and 11 a.m. from Sept. 29 through Oct. 5 will be just 99 cents.

In a recent Technomic survey of the 20 largest convenience-store chains by number of units that offer foodservice operating in the U.S. plus QuickChek and Pilot/Flying J, which were chosen for their distinctive offerings, QuickChek was voted No. 1 in overall beverage quality (coffee) with a 96% rating out of 100 and first in food quality with a 94% rating.

“We are committed to delivering what the customer wants,” said Durling. “Customer tastes and expectations change, and we will continue to meet their needs and exceed their expectations just as we have done since we opened our first store in 1967.”

A market leader and innovator in the fresh convenience industry, QuickChek’s fresh food and beverage program features oven-toasted subs and fresh-baked goods with the company priding itself on its high-quality and wide variety of fresh-brewed coffee.

The sustainably sourced coffee comes from areas in Brazil and Colombia, which receive funding and assistance to support the environment, local economies and social necessities in the regions where the beans are grown. This includes protecting the soil where the coffee is grown; providing low interest loans to farmers; and ensuring better working conditions. When sustainable coffee is purchased, funds go back to those communities and to ensure the future of quality coffee.
