The latest LTOs and menu rollouts from Quiznos, Cinnabon, ampm and more

OAK BROOK, Ill. -- More healthful items, summertime specialty drinks and Americana favorites are hitting menu boards this week. Foodservice Digest rounds up the latest limited-time offers and new-product rollouts.

Lest you thought the oatmeal trend had slowed, know it's only for the summer. Krispy Kreme Doughnutsis adding oatmeal, yogurt and fruit juice to its menu. It's also rolling out a range of specialty coffee drinks--arming itself to better battle Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks for share of the coffee shop/bakery pie.

Denny's added a new selection of healthful "Fit Fare" menu items with lower fat and calories and higher protein and fiber. The Denny's Fit Slam includes egg whites scrambled with fresh spinach and grape tomatoes, two turkey bacon strips, an English muffin and a side of seasonal fruit at 500 calories, 15 grams of fat and more than 20 grams of protein. The Chicken Avocado Sandwich comes with grilled chicken breast, diced avocado, freshly made pico de gallo, lettuce and sour cream on a whole-wheat bun, served with fresh veggies and totaling less than 550 calories and over 20 grams of protein.

[image-nocss]Quiznos added Farmers' Market salads to the menu, including a Harvest Chicken Salad with pumpkin seeds and acai vinaigrette; and a Caprese chicken salad with fresh mozzarella pearls and a basil pesto dressing. The sandwich chain also rolled out a line of pulled pork sandwiches, including Southern barbecue pulled pork and a pork Cuban. Pumpkin seeds and acai will likely make the salads stand out to consumers who follow health-and-wellness trends, while pulled pork is a perennial favorite getting extra love thanks to the rise of regional American cuisine.

Fro-yo chain Red Mango launched "Spoonable Smoothies" and "Mealworthy Smoothies," made with the company's frozen yogurt and mix-ins and likely to compete with segment leader Jamba Juice. Spoonable Smoothies are available in three flavors: strawberry-banana, mango-banana and mango-pineapple. The Mealworthy Smoothies are made with heartier ingredients such as peanut butter and pumpkin-flaxseed granola, and are available in four flavors: strawberry-banana, banana and peanut-butter protein, orange-pineapple energizer and orange-mango protein.

Cinnabon rolled out three beverages under the ReTreat line. The Creamy ReTreat is a blend of Oreo cookies, vanilla and chocolate sauce; Tangy ReTreat is a low-fat, dairy-free frozen blended lemonade available in lemon, raspberry or orange-mango flavors; and the Fruity ReTreat is a line of fruit-puree blended beverages in strawberry, strawberry-banana and tropical blast flavors.

Convenience retailer ampm introduced a new flavor to its burrito selection. The new Veggie Adobo Burrito is filled with black and pinto beans, red and green bell peppers with a crunchy texture, corn, potatoes, three cheeses and chipotle seasoning. Other ampm proprietary burritos include Beef Ranchero, Cilantro Chicken and two breakfast burritos: Chorizo Con Papas and The Works. An all-vegetarian option will likely be appreciated in a meat-centric c-store, and chipotle chilies are becoming an American flavor staple.
