WYTHEVILLE, Va. -- A new Sheetz location will officially open for business Thursday in Wytheville, Va., reported The Wytheville Enterprise. The 5,000 square-foot facility includes a convenience store, a six-island gas station, a restaurant and a car wash.
"We're thrilled to be at the finish line," Monica Jones, spokesperson for Altoona, Pa.-based Sheetz Inc., told the newspaper.
For foodservice, the store will sell burgers, hot dogs, specialty subs and salads all made fresh as customers order them.Another feature will be a full-service [image-nocss] espresso bar with a variety of Sheetz Bros. Coffeez.
The store will employ between 25 and 35 workers, according to Jones. It will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Sheetz store occupies a 1.7-acre tract of the 28.5-acre site being developed by Crown Properties LLC of Dobson, N.C. It is on the site of the former Builders Supermarket, said the report.
Jones said a grand opening ceremony would be held Friday.
Site grading for the new business began last fall, the report said. The town of Wytheville agreed to let the company realign a section of Tazewell Street at the company's expense to access the property, it added.
Meanwhile, to add some competition for Sheetz Bros. Coffeez, Starbucks will open a Wytheville location in June, the paper reported.
