Speedway Deploys Self-Service Beverage Station

Small-footprint unit designed by Frank Mayer & Associates
ENON, Ohio -- Speedway SuperAmerica LLC has deployed a branded self-service Ice Tea Beverage Station designed specifically for its Speedway stores by Frank Mayer & Associates Inc.

Designed to provide high visibility within a small footprint in the beverage self-service area, the unit holds two stainless-steel urns and two pumptop flavor bottles. This branded Ice Tea Beverage Station is molded from durable black haircell styrene and features a built-in drip tray to catch consumer spills. The high visibility header is engineered to change the graphic message to coordinate [image-nocss] with a wide variety of in-store promotions.

Grafton, Wis.-based Frank Mayer & Associates, an in-store merchandising, interactive kiosk and promotional marketing company serving retailers and consumer product manufacturers, created a retail self-service upgrade that combines a strong promotional presence with easy consumer access in a very compact footprint, it said.

In other Speedway SuperAmerica news, the retailer has provided a major boost to the capital campaign for the new Springfield (Ohio) Regional Medical Center with a $500,000 commitment over the next five years.

"Our new hospital will have a tremendous impact on the community, and we are grateful to Speedway for supporting that vision," said Mark S. Wiener, President and CEO of Community Mercy Health Partners. "Speedway is an excellent example of a corporate citizen who steps forward in the role of a community partner."

Said Tony Kenney, president of Speedway SuperAmerica, "Supporting Springfield's new hospital serves two purposes. It enables us to live our values in a tangible way and also helps to ensure the sustainability of the communities we serve."

Speedway SuperAmerica, headquartered in Enon, Ohio, is one of the nation's largest company-owned and -operated convenience store chains and the largest in the Midwest with approximately 1,600 stores located in nine states. Most of the stores are operated under the Speedway and SuperAmerica brand names. SSA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Marathon Oil Corp., Houston.
