Taylor's BP Queues Up DQ

S.C. "Lowcountry" retailer adds Dairy Queen Grill & Chill
RIDGELAND, S.C. -- Taylor's BP has opened a Dairy Queen Grill & Chill within its newly remodeled convenience store. Taylor's has been a landmark along Interstate 95 in the South Carolina Lowcountry since 1992. Located at exit 21 in Ridgeland S.C., the DQ Grill & Chill will offers burgers, fries, hot dogs, and the full line of DQ soft-serve treats. The new Grill & Chill opened its doors on April 8.

"We're happy to offer something new and exciting to the community. We're glad to be able to provide new jobs for Ridgeland," said Bonnie Shier, who oversees general [image-nocss] operations at the BP location.

"We're excited to welcome the Taylors into the DQ family," said Kevin McNaboe, director of franchise development for Interstate Dairy Queen Corp., Silver Springs, Md. "The Taylor family and their team epitomize everything that makes our system great."

Interstate Dairy Queen is a territory operator of American Dairy Queen and owns development rights along many interstate highways throughout the country. Along with developing freestanding units, Interstate Dairy Queen actively develops units within c-stores and travel centers and has layout options that can accommodate most situations.

International Dairy Queen, which operates in the Unites States as American Dairy Queen, is headquartered in Minneapolis and owned by Berkshire Hathaway Inc. It develops, licenses and services a system of more than 5,600 Dairy Queen stores in the United States, Canada and other foreign countries, offering dairy desserts, hamburgers, hot dogs and beverages.
