White Castle Teams Up With Wal-Mart

Giving away 10,000 Slider at Panama City Beach, Fla., Supercenter

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- White Castle Food Products LLC is teaming up with Wal-Mart to bring the Original White Castle Slider to Panama City Beach, Fla., during Spring Break. The Wal-Mart Supercenter in Panama City Beach will host the one-day giveaway of 10,000 burgers on March 10.

White Castle Food Products distributes frozen Sliders through grocery stores, convenience stores, foodservice outlets and vending machines all across the country.

White Castle team members from the Chicago area will be grilling the 10,000 hamburgers and cheeseburgers, according to Kelly Collins, marketing supervisor for White Castle.

The free Sliders will be handed out until they are gone.

They will also distribute coupons for savings on White Castle frozen burgers at the Panama City Beach Wal-Mart Supercenter.

In other company  news, White Castle picked Erin Wartz and Tom Uriarte from five couples entering the annual White Castle wedding contest in New York. White Castle partnered with radio station 92.3 NOW to host the contest.

White Castle is providing complementary food and beverages for up to 20 guests and 92.3 NOW is providing the rings, a two-tiered wedding cake, photographer, flowers for both the bride and groom and a minister to perform the ceremony.

For the contest, couples submitted entries as to why they deserve a White Castle wedding. The first date for this New York couple was at the Eatontown, N.J., White Castle location.

White Castle is a family-owned business based in Columbus, Ohio, that owns and operates more than 400 White Castle restaurants in 11 states. The company was founded in Wichita, Kansas in 1921 and calls itself America's first fast-food hamburger chain.
