LOS ANGELES -- Zero's Subs has opened a new nontraditional quick-serve restaurant in the Crenshaw Corridor area of Los Angeles. The store, located inside a Shell gas station and convenience store, marks the Southern California arrival of the East Coast sandwich chain.
Moncef Abbou, Mehdi Marzouk and Nicole Duncan of MAD Food Inc. own and operate the store. This is their first Zero's Subs restaurant, with plans to open a second.
Zero's Subs plans to expand throughout California and Arizona, as well as in Florida, said Elizabeth Fitzpatrick, director of AHC/Zero's Subs Inc., Virginia [image-nocss] Beach, Va. The chain has nearly 70 restaurants nationally and internationally.
The new restaurant will celebrate its grand opening on May 9 with food giveaways and prizes. Hours of operation will be 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and Sundays, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Guests can dine-in, take out or place a catering/delivery order.
Zero's Subs' nutritious menu—nothing is fried—features oven-baked sandwiches, buffalo wings, oven-baked pizza, salads and low-fat wraps. Menu items are made using Hormel meats on freshly baked bread created from the founders' "secret recipes." Zero's Subs' oven produces a healthier product in a QSR environment, said the company.
A Zero's Subs is also located in Modesto, Calif. Plans to develop four additional stores in California and Arizona are underway, it said.
