Eby-Brown Powers Up Merchandising

Kellogg, Oberto veteran joins distributor

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Convenience-store industry wholesale consumer products distributor Eby-Brown Co. LLC has added T.J. Powers to its executive team. Powers will serve as senior vice president of merchandising and be responsible for the enhanced growth and positioning of the merchandising strategy.

“T.J. brings more than 16 years of expertise and knowledge in the convenience channel, with a strong emphasis on understanding the discipline of delivering double-digit growth through enhanced solutions offerings that provide value to customer relationships through building vendor alliances. His disciplined understanding, coupled with his unique industry experience, will be a great asset as we continue to grow our organization,” said Thomas Wake, co-president of Eby-Brown.

Prior to joining Eby-Brown, Powers spent more than 13 years with The Kellogg Co. in sales, account management and executive management and most recently, served as vice president for meat snack maker Oberto Brands. Powers has been responsible for growing customer bases for both companies through the development of strategic channel strategies and aligning cross-functional enterprise resources, allowing him to cut costs and improve profitability, said Eby-Brown.

Powers is active in many industry associations and serves on the Exhibitor Advisory Committee of NACS.

Naperville, Ill.-based Eby-Brown, with more than $5.5 billion in revenue, offers programs, technology and variety of product and foodservice solutions. It owns and operates eight distribution centers throughout the East, Midwest, Mid-South and Southeast.
