WALLINGFORD, Conn. -- Edible Arrangements International LLC, a leader in fresh fruit arrangements, has launched new Edible To Go units designed for shopping malls and other high-traffic venues.
Two years in development, the new Edible To Go locations are streamlined units that offer a variety of fresh cut, all-natural fruits, smoothies, fresh squeezed lemonade and orange juice, fresh fruit salads, sundaes and parfaits, chocolate dipped fruits, as well as fresh fruit arrangements.
"The launch of our new Edible To Go locations is a major step forward for our company," said founder and CEO Tariq Farid. "It's all about bringing our wonderful fruit treats and service to guests in new and innovative ways."
Edible To Go units will be a major new avenue of business development for Edible Arrangements franchisees, along with traditional storefronts and online sales. The first locations are launching this summer at Mall St. Matthews in Louisville, Ky., and King of Prussia Mall just outside Philadelphia. The Chandler Fashion Center in Chandler, Ariz. will follow, with plans to expand the concept to additional markets by the end of the year.
Guests of all ages can watch as on-staff fruit experts create personalized treats by dipping fresh fruit in chocolate and adding toppings such as coconut, chocolate chips, almonds and sprinkles. Other treats include ready-to-go Fresh Fruit Truffles, chocolate dipped caramel apples and freshly made fruit bouquets or boxes of dipped fruit. In addition, guests can place orders for fruit arrangements and gifts to be delivered by one of Edible Arrangements 1,100 stores.
Fresh fruit delights on the menu at Edible To Go locations include:
- Chocolate Dipped Fruit: Customers can select fresh fruit to dip and top with their choice of chocolate and toppings. Or shoppers on the fly can choose from guest favorites that are dipped fresh and ready to go, including chocolate covered strawberries, Cinnamon Chocolate Apple Wedges and double-dipped bananas. Additional choices include chocolate dipped caramel apples, pineapple pops and new Fresh Fruit Truffles.
- Fresh Fruit Salads, Sundaes & Parfaits: Available with a choice of fruit and toppings.
- Healthy, All Natural Beverages: Fresh fruit smoothies, fresh lemonade and limeade, fresh squeezed orange juice, all with no preservatives or additives.
- Fresh Fruit Arrangements & Dipped Fruit Boxes: A selection of freshly made fruit bouquets and chocolate dipped fruit gift boxes, ready to pick up.

With more than 1,100 franchise locations open or under development worldwide, brothers Tariq and Kamran Farid developed and launched Edible Arrangements in 1999 in East Haven, Conn., after many years in the floral industry.
