MAPCO Maps Out Four Postal Locations

Gives Memphis consumers new choices for mailing services

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- MAPCO convenience stores have teamed up with the U.S. Postal Service to include delivery services in four stores in Memphis, Tenn.

The Postal Service has established four Contract Postal Units (CPU) in MAPCO stores in the area. These units provide full-service retail products and services to postal customers at U.S. Postal Service prices.

The CPUs are located inside MAPCO convenience stores and offer customers expanded access to USPS shipping services.

“Providing the best possible service to customers has always been our No. 1 goal,” said Michael Glass, services manager at MAPCO. “Our employees look forward to continuing that tradition in serving our customers and their postal needs.”

CPUs are located inside a local business or store and run by the retailer’s employees. They allow the Postal Service to bring service to new growth areas or to better meet customer demands.

“We are thrilled to offer our products and service to Memphis customers at more convenient locations throughout town,” said Chivon Dechelle, retail manager for the U.S. Postal Service Tennessee District. “The business partnership we’ve established with MAPCO is a real win for the community.”

There are currently more than 5,000 CPU retailers across the United States offering expanded customer access to postal products and services.

MAPCO is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delek US Holdings Inc. With headquarters in Brentwood, Tenn., MAPCO operates 377 convenience stores in eight states under the MAPCO Express, MAPCO Mart, East Coast, Discount Food Mart, Fast Food and Fuel, Delta Express and Favorite Markets brand names. More than half of the retail segment’s store locations are in Tennessee.
