MedeFile Offering Health Records Flash Drive

Firm will market device to consumers via c-store, gas station rack card

CEDAR KNOLLS, N.J. -- MedeFile International Inc., a company specializing in portable electronic medical records management solutions, said that it has granted Manalapan, Fla.-based API Marketing, Sales & Advertising Co. the exclusive right to market MedeFile memberships to consumers in more than 100,000 retail outlets throughout the United States and Canada.

For more than 20 years, API has specialized in marketing consumer products and services through convenience stores, gas stations, bodegas, independent pharmacies and health food stores across North America. Clients have included [image-nocss] PT-1, Verizon, Old Navy and Playboy. Founded by CEO and president Alex Papas, API employs more than 500 independent sales representatives in the Continental United States, Hawaii and Canada.

API will collaborate with MedeFile on the high impact design and production of a point-of-sale (POS), MedeFile-branded rack card that API will arrange to be positioned at or near checkout counters in retail venues within the API sales network. In addition, the companies will collaborate on the design and production of MedeFile-branded stickers to be adhered primarily to storefront glass windows, main entry doors and gas pumps, as applicable.

MedeFile has developed a proprietary system for gathering and digitizing medical records so that individuals can have access to a comprehensive set of their medical records. MedeFile's primary product is the MedeFile system, a highly secure system for gathering and maintaining medical records. The MedeFile system is designed to gather all of its members' actual medical records and create a single resource that is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Representing an advanced, yet easy-to-use, approach to portable, electronic medical records management, MedeFile combines technology and the Internet to make medical data instantly accessible to each MedeFile subscriber and his or her authorized healthcare providers from anywhere in the world. In addition to accessing one's medical records through MedeFile's secure Internet portal found at www.MedeFile.com, members can carry their entire medical history and emergency information wherever they go on a device called a MedeDrive—a proprietary USB drive designed to be carried on a keychain. The MedeDrive plugs into any USB port of a Windows-based PC; and because MedeDrive automatically loads its own viewer, users do not require any special programs or software to view data.

"Aside from providing peace of mind, convenience and security, this cost effective and tech-savvy electronic medical record management solution is also environmentally friendly, helping to eliminate, to large degree, the need for producing hard copies of health records. Based on my own personal, harrowing medical experiences involving unnecessary and costly redundant testing, I believe that MedeFile is indeed capable of having a very positive—if not profound—impact on the U.S. healthcare system. Consequently, API is very excited about having the opportunity to partner with MedeFile to bring this important new technology to the attention of U.S. consumers everywhere," said Papas.
